What's new in Clock Rings 2026.09.15

Clock Rings 2026.09.15 (build 124) just cleared App Review and is live on the App Store now. It's a big one — a full themed redesign, one configurable widget instead of a dozen separate ones, deeper accessibility support, easier language switching, and sturdier alarms.

A themed makeover

Every screen — Settings, the editors, Help, the Dashboard, and the Welcome tour — now draws its sections as cards outlined and tinted in your theme color, in both Light and Dark. Light Mode now matches Dark instead of the old plain grey look. A new Section Borders switch (Settings → Clock & Appearance) lets you turn the card outlines on or off, if you'd rather keep the tint without the frame.

One widget, any size

The separate Home Screen widgets are gone, replaced by a single Clock Rings widget that comes in every size. Long-press it and tap Edit Widget to choose what it shows — Clock, Dashboard, Today, Payday, Tour Status, Next Event, Next Alarm, or Tour Progress — along with the layout and the clock face, including Icon. Two new layouts round it out: a Single Clock that fills the whole widget (pick Standard or Decimal), and One Clock + 3 Panels for a denser view. The Extra-Large Dashboard on iPad and Mac is fuller too, with bigger tiles that actually fill the space. If an old widget reads "unavailable," just add the new Clock Rings widget and pick what you want. (If a widget looks unchanged right after updating, delete and reinstall the app — iOS sometimes hangs onto a cached render.)

More accessible

VoiceOver now speaks each punch out loud, including telling you when one wasn't recorded. A two-finger double-tap (Magic Tap) on the Clock screen begins or ends your tour. Differentiate Without Color turns the Leave calendar's dots into distinct shapes instead of relying on color alone, and Reduce Transparency, Increase Contrast, and Bold Text are all honored throughout the app.

Easier language switching, more Spanish

Switch or preview the app's language right from the Welcome tour or from Settings, and weekday and month names, event names, and the Career/Retirement labels now follow it everywhere — the Dashboard, the clock face, Leave, Work Schedule, Reports, History, share cards, widgets, and the Watch. Postal terms (Tour, Punch, Operations) stay in English on purpose, and the decimal clock always keeps its period.

Sturdier alarms

Fixed a case where an alarm could show as on but not actually arm, and another where a repeating alarm tied to your schedule could quietly stop firing while still showing as on. Scheduling now retries automatically past transient hiccups and keeps your repeat days even when your schedule hasn't loaded yet.
