Merit — Support

A family chores and rewards app. Parents set up chores, kids complete them to earn points, and points can be redeemed for rewards or saved toward goals and allowance.

Frequently asked

How do I get started? Add your kids first (Family → add a kid; a PIN is optional). Then assign chores — one-time, recurring, or rotating — from the Chores tab or the Chore Library. As kids finish work it arrives in your approval queue, and approved chores pay out points.

How does the points loop work? Assign a chore → the kid marks it done (with optional photo proof) → a parent approves it → the points land in that kid’s balance. Points can be spent on rewards you define, put toward savings goals, or paid out as allowance. Every movement is recorded in a ledger you can scroll back through.

Does my data sync across devices? Yes — everything syncs across iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac, and Apple TV through your own iCloud. Make sure each device is signed into the same Apple Account. Changes normally appear on the other devices within about a minute.

Can two parents on different Apple Accounts share one family? Not yet. Today a family lives in one Apple Account’s private iCloud, so the way to share it is to use the same Apple Account on the devices that need it. Sharing a family between two separate Apple Accounts is in progress.

What can a kid do, and what can’t they? Kids can see their own pages and tick off and submit their own work. Parent-only actions — approving chores, awarding or adjusting points, adding or editing kids, and editing the chore and reward libraries — are not offered while a kid is in their own section. If App Lock is on, leaving Kid Mode asks for Face ID or your passcode.

Where is my data stored? Is it private? Everything stays on your device and in your private iCloud. There’s no account, no server, no ads, and no tracking — the developer never sees your family’s data. See the Privacy Policy for details.

What’s the Apple TV app for? It’s a gather-round-and-look-at-it screen: each kid with their points and streak, Family Missions, Today, the leaderboard, rewards and family pages. You still add kids, chores and rewards on iPhone, iPad or Mac — they turn up on the TV.

Chore points don’t match between the library and a chore I already added — why? Adding a chore copies the catalog’s values at that moment, so chores already in your family keep the points they were added with. Edit the chore to change it — from the Chores list, the Chore Library pencil, “Edit Chore” on the Assign page, or by swiping it in your own packs. All four open the same editor.

How do I back up? Settings → Backup & Restore exports everything to a file you keep. Restoring offers a gap-fill merge by default, which is the safe option. Photos are not included in the export file.
